Senior DevOps Engineer (contractor) (2021-4)

OVERVIEW
We are looking for a strong DevOps Engineer to work in a growing data science team supporting CI/CD processes and our SDLC.
As part of this team you will be building and supporting CI/CD processes for many types of applications running in both Kubernetes and standalone multi-cloud environments. As a senior engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with technologies such as Azure DevOps, Kubernetes, Docker, Artifactory, Sonar, Git, Kafka, Cassandra, Spark, Spring Boot, and Confluence. This is a potentially long-term contract opportunity: at least one year. Our client is also known for its willingness and ability to retain contracted talent for many years.
ENVIRONMENT
We take the software engineering craft to heart: unit testing, peer reviews, formal coding guidelines with the latest code quality tooling, continuous integration/deployment and a supportive, delivery-focused atmosphere are just some of the characteristics of our work environment. Working hours are typically limited to 40 per week.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- MUST HAVE experience working in a cloud environment, preferably Azure or IBM Softlayer
- MUST HAVE at least 5 years of experience building and maintaining CI tools like ADO Pipelines or Jenkins
- MUST HAVE experience with build tools gradle and/or maven
- MUST HAVE very solid experience with Git
- MUST HAVE experience doing build and deployment triage
- MUST HAVE experience writing and maintaining shell scripts
- MUST HAVE experience working in a Linux environment
HIGHLY DESIRED REQUIREMENTS
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Experience with Java development
- Experience with Spark job configuration, deployment and triage
- Experience with Sonarqube code quality
